I got this notice in the mail today and wondered if anyone has already heard this DVD:

"Hello friends and fans of Thumbs Carllile! I hope you have enjoyed the CDs you've orderd, I've received tons of great feedback over the past two years and I'm happy to be able to provide the Thumbs remasters to his devoted fans.

The news is Virginia Carllile has put together a DVD of Thumbs performing in 1986. There is a "studio" session where he is performing solo and speaking between songs on Dekalb County's Channel 12 TV program. There is a "live" session where Thumbs is sitting in at the "Pub" in Little Five Points. There is also a slow motion closeup of Thumbs playing "Big Boss Man." This DVD runs around 45 minutes in all. It is NOT in High Definition or Surround Sound, but it's the best we have of Thumbs and I'm sure you'll agree it's priceless. Virginia wants me to distribute these to his fans so if you are interested I am ready to fill your orders.
The cost of the DVD plus First Class Postage in the USA is $15, if you live out of the USA the cost with Air Mail postage is $17.50.

haven't heard it, but it's gotta be great! have to add that to my wishlist... thanks!
Here's a great clip of Thumbs and Curly Chalker playing "Lil Liza Jane"
...goin way back. Anyone know a date on this?

I've got an old videotape of Thumbs with Roger Miller from the mid-60s.
an early morning tv show hosted by Ralph Emery.
Thumbs is sporting a Batman shirt and plays a tune from his first solo album...
"Candy Girl" i believe. Hopefully i can post it one of these days.

I mailed my check off Monday for the DVD. I have always enjoyed hearing Thumbs Carllile play guitar. I will post again when I get the DVD and get to sit down and watch it.

I received the DVD on Monday afternoon. I was not surprised at the quality of talent that Thumbs Carllile was. The "Pub" section of the DVD is a little dark but you can see Thumbs play. I wish there were more footage of him playing. He was just a fantastic guitar player.
