I just ordered a mandolin from the "Weber" company. While browsing there site I came across this:
http://www.soundtoearth.com/inst_gt_reso_mh.htm
As far as I know these are pretty new...how about it guys and Gals...anyone know anything about these? Click on the "click here"
link on the right hand side of there page and check out the specs. Looks pretty good to me. They do make a very nice mandolin! Any thoughts?

This same bunch of guys were originally Flatiron mandolins, from about 1980 on. When they started making A-5 and F-5 style arch-top mandolins, they were so good that Gibson farmed out their mandolin production to Flatiron (still labeled Gibson), as part of their long-term move from Kalamazoo to Nashville. Later, Gibson bought them out and they became Gibson Montana Division, making high-end mandolins and guitars. After Gibson was completely relocated to Nashville, they shut down the Montana operation and moved mandolin production to Nashville. Did the same thing with OMI (formerly Dobro), moving their operations from California to Nashville. Some of the luthiers in Montana did not relocate to Tennessee. This included Bruce Weber, who re-hired a lot of the Montana crew, and they have continued making good mandolins.

This is a longwinded way of saying, they do know their stuff and I'd expect their reso-guitars to be very fine instruments in sound and appearance, based on my own experience with their mandolins.

Hopefully they will be more affordable than the Weber guitars that start at $6000.
They do look nice!
