I only use the works program to store and address envelopes so it has virtually nothing to store. I am running a late model computer with XP and the hard drive shows less than 40% in usage. I have no other problems on any other programs but for some reason works will not go on and open now because a pop up shows "out of memory" what can I do to correct this please ? Thanks, Bill Myrick. |

What version of Works are you trying to run?
Will it open a blank (new) project? Or is the problem when you try to open an existing (possibly corrupt) file? |

I believe it's a version 4.5 but not sure-- bought it about two years ago. I open the envelope address files and when I try to open any existing address the message comes up.
In other words instead of using the envelope template to set up an addrerss, I open existing files --. |

This doesn't answer your question but why not change to OpenOffice? It's a free software suite that's nearly identical to Microsoft Office. And did I mention FREE?
Works will export your file to and Office file - database, spreadsheet, or whatever. OpenOffice will directly read this exported file.
