Nope, it's Koos Biel. Kind of creepy, huh? I saw Koos play at Scotty's in 1981, and he sounded great... but he was such a total clone of Buddy Emmons that it was kind of unnerving. He dressed like Buddy, wore his hair and beard exactly like Buddy, smoked his cigarette exactly like Buddy does, same body language when he plays. Same facial expressions. It was creepy to watch IMHO and it detracted from his performance. I know that Koos is a great player, but I just could not take him seriously after seeing his demeanor on stage in the 1980's. Hopefully he has developed a more original look nowadays to match his unique and awesome playing.

hmmm...that shirt Koos is wearing in the video looks very familiar! Wink

Wow. Creepy is right. Also, that's the worst singing I've heard in a long time. Thumbs down.

Yes that's what it is ,,,,,Your opinion

I think you must know kOOS longer,,,before you realy know him
I know Koos for a very long time far before he ever saw Buddy (1976) ,more or les he was the same guy (then very Young +- 20 now mid 50)'
That TVshow you saw was 1983 i was one of the musicproducers,it was a very HOT day (outdoors)
The band members Laughing Laughing Laughing there tail of when Nils Tuxen came up with his short "hot pant" after that everybody did something funny,,,,and Yes Koos used a "Derby"(he did steel it from the englisch Tv producer Mickey Hayes) Rolling Eyes
(BTW Koos did used this when he played (his HERO)Buddy Emmons instrumentals ,in europe he was always asked for this.
(and he loved it Wink )

But like more musicians,,,sometimes a little bit strange Rolling Eyes
but most of all a lot of humor Laughing
Since the first time he was in the states he did make friends,,,names? ,,ao ;SCotty, Buddy ,Bobby, Jimmy,Speedy,Russ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Henry, The video speaks for itself. I’ll let Forum members make their own assessment.

When I saw Koos playing live at Scotty’s Convention in 1981, yes, his demeanor was exactly like the Big E, the body language, the cigarette. People at the show noticed it, and a couple of well known players mentioned it to me, and we were quite surprised by it. If you saw Buddy play live in the 70’s and 80’s you’d know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s as clear as a bell on that video.
