anyone using a Boss SE-50 effects processor with a decent distortion for steel guitar, if so, what are the set-up numbers & values. I have been using these SE-50's for everything but distortion, just can't seem to set up a good one.

I've used an SE-50 for several years off and on, but I never tried their distortion, I always used a stomp box so it would be easier to kick in and out. I would think one of the presets would give you a good place to start, then edit from there.

Darvin: I have tried since 1991 to find a the right combination, I have a great dobro sound, a great 'leslie' speaker sound, & delay & reverb sound, just distortion stinks on these. I have two of the units. Surely there is someone out there smarter than me on these units that could come up with a good distortion sound for steel on one of these. Oh, if you have a off/on button, you can turn the effect off & on from your steel, or I have also used a midi foot controller to select the sound I want, just no distortion.

I cannot beleive that I have finally found a decent setting for distortion on this unit, I think after 16 years of messing with Boss SE-50's I have got a good one. Anyone need the settings, give me an email. also have a great Leslie Effect on mine.

Hey Ernie, don't keep us in suspense!

I haven't tried to get a good distortion with my SE-50, I just throw a distortion pedal in the mix when needed. But I would like to try your setting. Either post it or shoot me an email when you have time.
Thanks,
Dave
