Looking for some input on switching systems for my live rig. I need fast access to a lot of different sounds and textures, so my (large) pedalboard is getting to be a hassle.

I'm looking at the Voodoo Labs GCX Audio Switcher, and the Ground Control midi switcher built into a rack. I'll build in some of my distortion pedals to the rack, but I'll also be looking for a multi fx unit, narrowed down to either the TC G sharp or major, or the Rocktron Xpression, or possibly a PodXt Pro.

Any opinions on this gear would be appreciated!

best,
Larry

Larry, I had a Digitech Genesis 3 that you could set up with many different sounds(phase, distortion, etc) then just scroll thru them with one rotary knob..I sold it as I didn't use a tenth of what it could do..BE used them for awhile..you could probably pick one up for $125..JS

Heya John,
Thanks for the reply man!. Yep, that's one of the units I had considered for a while. I'll probably settle in on a midi controller and switcher to try and make all of the changes in a live set faster and easier. Plus, I just couldn't bear to give up all of my stompboxes.!

Yep, I'm sure you remember from my NJ days that I've always been a gear freak. Still am!

I need to give you a ring one of these days John...catch up on what you've been into over the years, and reminisce about the "old" days. Smile

best,
Larry
