This one comes from Smokey Rogers and his String Band, and Joaquin just tears it up. Note the use of even eighth notes in his playing, quite different than his usual swinging eighth note feel. Don't get me wrong--he's swingin' his d*^%$ off.

Tamburitza Boogie

Go to the music player and click on the 4th song in the list. Enjoy![/url]

That solo is killer- what is really odd is that I'm positive that it's the only Joaquin solo I've heard repeated note for note on another Tex W or Spade C. song.

Let me look in the archives and see if I can find it, unless one of you guys beats me to it.

Hey Mike, those of us living out in the sticks with no cable can't get the player to work on dial up. Any chance you can activate the download function or maybe even post an mp3. on your thread? Thanks, jwhillbilly

Mike,
Thanks for linking us to more Joaquin. That is one of my favorite gritty Joaquin solos.
One of the cool things about this solo is Buddy Emmons copies it note for note on "Buddys Boogie". Herb Steinar has a link to this tune on his web site under cool links. Check it out and you will see how much Buddy studied Joaquin back in the day.
Tony, maybe that is where you have heard that repeat solo.
Thanks again Mike
