I need help with Dierks Bentley's song "Domestic Light & Cold. There is a descending chord progression on the third vocal line of the verse. Everytime time I think I've got it, the more I play it, it doesn't sound like it anymore. Can someone please help? It's givin' me gray hairs.

Harold,

its an F# minor going to B7 via a chromatic moving line (i.e. one strand in the chords descends by half steps). Looks like this in notation:

I'm not at my steel, but you could get this by starting at fret 5 strings 4-5-6 with the A pedal down (F# min.), release the A pedal half way (or engage a lever to lower string five a half-step; A augmented), then no pedal (E major), then either lower the fifth string a half-step again (if you have that change) or go to the nearest B7 chord yuo can grab (2nd or 7th fret probably).

Hope that helps.

Dan
