How remarkable is the average "steeler" in terms of inquisitiveness? Could this trait be credited for an undaunted study of the steel guitar?

I think steel players can be divided into 2 caragories- those who are genuinely interested in learning as much as they can, and those who are content to learn an arrangement by tab and are not interested in exploring any possibilities beyond that.
