I have a question for Buddy,and it is not about the steel guitar,my little 6 year old wants to go see some "space" so I tought to ask you if you would have an advice where to take her.I guess she is interested in stars and astronomy,pretty cool for a 6 year old I tought.

I'm actually an astronomer for my day job (or night job) for the Museum of Natural History here in Luxembourg so if she's got any specific questions I'll be glad to help!
FAQ
1) Is there intelligent life in the universe?
Yes...just not much here on earth.
2) Do black holes really exist? Yes
3) Are there any asteroids named after steel players? Yes and no....4442 Garcia
That will change when I get some of my discoveries named later this year. Watch this space.

Tom: Are you constantly involved is session work?
Buddy: I don't like to stay too busy with work. I couldn't do 209 sessions a week without becoming a basket-case. If I have a good week or two coming up, I let that be it and turn down anything else unless it's a real good account. Not that I'm financially independent, but I have other things I like to do. I've recently discovered the world of model railroading and it has really hooked me. Astronomy has also been a hobby of mine for many years. It's very important to me to take time to do the things I enjoy doing. That's what makes the things I have to do to survive, more tolerable. |

Matt,great pic.I was always curious about space and all those un-earthly things,I just couldn`t deal with some things like "forever" ,"never" or "endless" etc..so I figured I better stop before I luse my mind.Theory about "big bang" just doesn`t cut it for me, space was once small as an atom and than "big bang" and than become a space...???  ...I just don`t buy that.I think human brain is not ready yet to understand some things (or many things), the problem is that we (humans) invented a wheel and we think that we are smartest cookies in the universe,I`m affraid that is not simple like that and that there is many things out there we don`t have an answer for even tho we act like we do.To me,stating that we are the only inteligent form of life in the universe is more than arrogant, I think it would be more likely that other iteligent forms of life rather stay away from us since we tend to be somewhat agressive and crazy as a spicies.JMHO

00. That's 16.5 mmm gauge, 4mm/ft scale (1/76). I model British Railways in the Birmingham area in the 1950s. |

I too have been bitten by the astronomy bug. I currently have 3 meade GPS telescopes, CCD cameras, and every eyepiece known to man. I spend my weekends under the stars near Tahoe, where the views are absolutely astounding. A break every few hours to pratice my steel makes for the perfect weekend for me...
