hey guys, i just got my pro tools rig up and going on my mac...it is an older version of pro tools 5.2LE? works with os 9.2. anyway, i got it working and then while i was recording a track, i noticed this clicking noise where the levels spike at regular intervals, causing a clicking noise that gets recorded onto the track. it happens regardless of whether or not the knob for gain is turned up or not and is really annoying. i'm wondering if anyone out there has had this problem, or has any ideas of where to go from here? i hope it isn't the pre (m-box). thanks in advance for help, peace |

CPU spikes are generally caused by the latency settings being to low. Try adjusting your latency settings to a tad higher setting and see what happens. _________________ Steve Stallings

Sounds like it might be a clocking error? I'm not in front of PT so I'm not sure, but I think under "Hardware Setup" make sure your Clock Source is set to INTERNAL. There's a lot of helpful folks on the Digidesign BBS:

Hope that helps. |

Chris,
I've had several snags and always (except once) found help on Digidesign's PT forum:
