I recently got the rackmount unit. After trying several different 12” speakers (yeah, I like the way they sound), I settled on a Peavey 1203 Black Widow in a cabinet I originally built for a.15” speaker. The Steelaire head and that speaker in the larger cabinet is a killer combination.

I have a Session 500, which is still the best sound I've ever heard, but a back breaker. Nashville 400 pretty good, and easier to carry for sure. Quilter is so light, it's unbelievable! Reverb pretty good, though I still prefer spring in the Peaveys. Tremolo is a great addition for me as I play some guitar too on gigs. I feel exactly the same as others here that maybe the shallow cabinet creates a problem with lows and low mids. The company is amazing and they will talk to you very kindly about their products! I gig with it because it's so much easier to carry and the tremolo means I don't need to carry a pedal I'd need with the Peaveys, but when I really want to be happy with my sound, I drag one of the Peaveys with me. It just feels hollow or something. Hard for me to put into words. I have dreamed of trying a deeper cabinet to see if that really is where the problem comes from. Anybody try that????

While I'm dreaming, I've wished that the term could be switched to phasor too. I miss that from my Session 500. I assume it's created digitally like the reverb, and maybe a little switch to go from phasor to tremolo would be nice for some versatility. Love to through some phasor on for Waylon songs and such!
