Be careful about buying older EV mics on Ebay. The RE series mics have an internal foam shock mount, and foam pop filters that deteriorate with age. Even if the mic still works, it may need repair. In the old days, you could send them back to Electro-Voice, and they would repair them for free. That all changed after they were acquired by Telex. I recently bought an EV PL-20 (same mic as the RE-20) on Ebay, and it cost me an additional $165 to have it repaired. In the end, It ended up costing the same as a brand new RE-20.

I have an RE-15 that is on it's 3rd continent now.
Good work horse mic.
Didn't know of the Chess records connection, interesting. _________________ DLD, Chili farmer. Plus bananas and papaya too.
