problem solved ,,25.5" scale ,becomes 24.25"

Wow I was thinking about this a few days ago. I have this Excel Superb... absolutely love it but only can trust the George L's string which I have very few of these days.

Sometimes bad metal, Or bad heat treating of strings can cause a big problem. A local supplier once got a bad supply of .011 strings from George L, They were break at the changer finger.
One show I played 3 different steelers broke strings on stage, That night. Was like a competition who could change a string quickest.
Another order of .011 single strings the supplier got, Was like rubber bands, Break a string in a new set, Put one of the new order .011 singles on, It would last till string change time.

Chris, keep in mind that if you shorten the string length by moving the tuning head, you’ll also have to replace the fretboard! Wink
