then they would need their ears cleaned. single note stuff would be say a flute or violin. Bob is doing complicated self accompanying which involves chords, bass patterns and single notes.

Bob is still as awesome as ever! I have many pleasant memories playing rhythm guitar to Bob. One in particular was at the Bishop Museum in HNL. The lawn was filled primarily with locals, (not all that many visitors). Bob was introduced along with Merle Kekuku on bass, Dennis "Kuki" Among, and myself on guitars. Bob absolutely stunned the audience with a 1929 style of Hawaiian music ... they loved him.
Needless to say, both Merle and "Kuki" were also stunned as both, along with myself, were backing him 'cold'.

To quote AJ, "single note stuff would be say a flute or violin." Sure you can play single note "stuff" on a violin, but, as far as myself, and most other violinists or fiddlers I know, double stops come into play VERY often, and often times with an additional note or 2.

What's wrong with single notes? String them together right and they sound great.
