Last night I encountered a problem with my Profex II. Dialing past B09 in the up direction, or past B55 in the down direction sends the unit into DSP Reset. I reloaded the settings from the card with no change in behavior. Anyone have any ideas what to do to fix this?
Thanks in advance. RCM |

Do a reset by pressing play and global buttons. Power up while holding the buttons down. Re-load from the
card. |

That did it! All better now. Thanks Ken. I appreciate the help. Manual wasn't available to me at present due to circumstances beyond my control... |

Hi There,
Perhaps I can squeeze in a Q for Ken about my Profex ii.
Occaisionally when I power up I get the message"Audio memory failed"I switch off and repower and it is OK.
One of my friends has the same thing but he has, at times had to repower five times.
Any advice appreciated.
Many thanks
Billy |

I have seen this when an audio chip was not well seated. Also there are four chips that hold memory (RAM). One of those could be bad or net well seated in a socket. If you need them, I have 100's of them!
The audio chips are the 4 on the left in the picture. The memory chips are circled with a violet circle in the middle of the picture.

Thanks for the help Ken.
I recently fitted the Audio chips and the batteryless mod as supplied by yourself,I am pretty sure the chips are seated ok.The glitch I mentioned was happening before I did the mods.It does not bother me to repower whenever necessary but my concern is that the unit may not power up at all.
If You think it will be ok till next March I will see You at Dallas otherwise I will order one to be posted to me.
Thanks
Billy |

It could be the audio RAM chips, the 4 in a row circled in purple on the photo above. I have 100's (it is the same chip that is removed for the battery-less mod). I'll be glad to send you 8, no charge. That way you can try them in yours and your friends Profex 2. Just send me your address. |

Hi Ken, Sorry to butt in but I believe Billy is referring to me as his friend! (I hope so anyway).
Yes I have the problem Audio Memory Failed, and it does sometimes take 5 times to get it to power on properly. However, I`m using a Profex 1 not a 11, and it has your batteryless mod chip installed. Is this the same problem as described above, and is it the same chips which need to be re-seated etc?
Many thanks in advance!

I am not as familiar with the Profex 1. I looked at a schematic and board layout and did not see the same chips on it.
Have you re-initialized the unit?? I assume you have. If that did not help then you need to check with Peavey for a solution on it.
Wish I could be of more help!
The 8 chips are shipping tomorrow for the Profex 2 (only 4 are needed) |
