This is not a Bob Wills tune, a Sol Hoopii number or a Jerry Byrd arrangement. This one is truer to my roots than any of the music ever produced by these great musicians.

I'm sending this one out to my friend Kay Das. Kay is fearless when it comes to creating arrangements and recording songs you wouldn't usually associate with the non-pedal steel guitar.

Sherry Baby

Recorded with my Beard/Gold Tone Resophonic in C6, my Talsma Tenor ukulele and my 1993 Heritage Johnny Smith guitar. Band In A Box provides the bass.

I recorded this one this morning.

Fantastic Gerald! Brings back memories for me too. I just can't understand folks getting hung up on one genre of music. There's a whole universe (maybe more) out there and we can learn from all of it! Keep up the great work.

I just remixed it and reposted the tune.

Well not really remix - I cut the output levels a bit. It was way too hot.

Now the tune really sounds like a Twist Party!

Great musicianship Gerald.

I listened immediately to the recording after reading your initial post. Then I proceeded to read the rest of the posts up to where you indicated that you had cut the output levels.

That was going to be my suggestion after listening - to lower the output level on the bass. So I may have listened to your revised recording. The bass still seemed to overpower the solo instruments somewhat. IMHO. However, I do realize these days many like the bass output cranked up.

Good work.

Aloha,
Don
