The song " Show Me" was awarded song of the year at the Acadamy of Western Artists awards last night. The song was written by our little songbird Starla Queen. It's a great honor to win this award and we are all very proud.

Scott. I was hoping to meet you last night at the awards. I did get the opportunity to congtatulate Starla on "Show Me". The song I wrote for Billy Mata "Gotta keep 'em Movin'Along" was also nominated. I was hoping it could have been me, but Starla's song was well deserved. We had four nominations and ended up with male vocalist of the year. Hope to meet you in St. Louis.

Thanks to everyone for your nice comments. It was a real shocker to us! We had a great evening - we were nominated in three categories and came home with song of the year for "Show Me"! Thanks to everyone for their continued support of the Jazzabillies!

It was great to chat with Tommy Allsup, Billy Mata, the River Road Boys, Dottie Jack, Bobby Flores, Doug Moreland, Lynn Anderson, & others. All these people are great artists and great folks!

It was a great show - Bobby Newton and the rest of the Academy of Western Artists really put together a great show! There were special performances from Billy Mata, Mike Siler, Bobby Flores, Doug Moreland, Dottie Jack, Lynn Anderson, and others.

Here are some results which include names I'm sure you will recognize:

Billy Mata - Western Swing Male Vocalist
Liz Talley - Western Swing Female Vocalist
Starla Queen - Western Swing Song of the Year
Dan Chambers - Western Swing Cd of the Year
Light Crust Doughboys - Western Swing Duo/Group
Bobby Koefer - Western Swing Instrumentalist
Major Market Radio - Eddie Kilroy (XM Radio)
Secondary Market Radio - Dallas McCord
Record Label - Yellow Rose Records
Record Producer - Tracey Pitcox
Leona Williams - Pure Country Female Vocalist
Mike Siler - Male Pure Country Vocalist

Those are just a few of the winners. A complete list will be available later at
http://www.awa-awards.org/WillRogersAwards/index.html

This is great organization so help them by joining their organization and subscribing to "rope burns". Of course - I also have to mention that the Jazzabillies cd is available at www.jazzabillies.com
(hee hee)
