Has anyone bought software from this company? A couple of months ago they had bundled software such as Win XP Pro Full and Win2000 office for $116. They had several other software bundled pkgs of software as well as individual packages for sale. I cannot get to their web site now. Was wondering if anyone had dealings with them.

Wiz, thanks for the headsup. I was suspicious of them.
Eighty bucks for Win XP Pro was a bit cheap. I was skeptical since they were offering the SW so cheap.

Not sure which version you're looking at, but it looks to me like about $140 will get you WinXP Pro OEM from a legitimate source.

Dave, the ad he mentioned was for "Win XP Pro Full and Win2000 office for $116." This is obviously a pirates price. Had he purchased them from that source he would have been denied Windows Updates or optional MS software components that require a valid license (like Windows Defender and IE 7).

FWIW: I occasionally get spam messages for cheap software (MS, Adobe, Corel, AutoDesk) and never respond, except to send the source code to SpamCop. These are pirates selling unlicensable software for common users. Some of it is corporate licensing only, which private end users do not qualify for, while others may be marked "Educational" and only priced cheaply for teachers or legitimate students who can prove their status in writing.

Others advertise via spam email blasts for "cheap software" and are selling illegally duplicated versions of Windows, PhotoShop, AutoCad, etc, with counterfeit product codes, labels and license stickers. People who buy these rip-offs will not be able to license or activate them because those illegal codes are either totally fraudulant, or are in databases of known pirated codes.

Oh, yeah, re-reading his post, I see it now.

Yeah, I get that stuff too, along with the ones for my very own "PhD diploma", all the "meds", the "ecard from a family member", yada, yada. But I've got my spam filter blocking prolly 80-85% of it now, and most of it gets deleted before I see it, mostly based on blocked IP ranges or domains, keywords in the subject/body, some built-in regex rules that came with the software, etc.
