Jamie: Peavy offers a Mod kit for this amp. I installed one in mine, and it sure enhanced the over-all performance.

Jamie, the mod helps get rid of the midrange goose honk these amps have. Well worth the bucks.

I did the mod on an old Session 500 of mine and it smoothed things out considerably. Well worth the money which wasn't too much anyway.

Contact Peavey directly. Mike Brown will probably pop in here directly and let you know the mod kit number.

I bought my 500 7 years ago and bought and installed the LeMay Mod and it really gave the amp the very thing it was missing. It not only sounded 10 stories tall but the tone was ever so sweet. I still have it but bought a two piece Webb for the weight difference.

Gary,
You installed the mod yourself? How difficult was it to do? Where can one get the LeMay mod kit, and how much?

Steel Guitar Canada has the LeMay mod. $169 if I remember correctly. I'll probably do it once I get my busted up Session 500 back in one piece. Dang shipping companies !@#$%^&*()_

Maybe Ken Fox can whip up a mod kit for that amp. Generally Ken's mods are far more encompassing that what other mod kits include. Ken's kits will clean up all the power, the tone control section, and also the direct audio signal path.

Ken, Session 500 kit?

Brad, so far I am not selling kits other than the simple chip change out for processors such as the Profex 2 and also for the N112 and N1000 amps. My kits for the Nashville 400, Vegas 400, Session 400 and LTD 400 are not for sale, I only install them. I supply all the info to assemble those amp kits at no charge.

I cannot support the tech time it would encompass to guide people through the installation and possible errors they might make installing soldered in electronic components.

I have not pursued modding the Session 500 due to the split chassis that would have to be shipped.

Peavey has a kit that just replaces the IC chips, some tone caps and resistors. Again a tech should install the kit. It does not take care of the power filter caps or other things I do in my "Intense mods" and "Sarno" mods.
