I am looking for a pedal steel guitar that needs some TLC. I am looking for 10 or 12 string. I am looking for a project, so if you have anything that is lying around that you were gonna fix, but never got around to it, let me know. Student models are ok. I really have enjoyed doing some work on mine, and am looking for another challenge.

I have a MSA S-10 4K/3P that has a bout of leprosy er... lacquer delamination problem.
The changer could use a good cleaning, too. Its a bit scary to look at - but the mechanics and direct recorded sound sold me on it. Excellent. The original SuperSustain P/Ups kick my E66's out the door for direct recorded sound.
I'm not sure I want to sell, though. It sounds too good. A bit like a diamond in the rough. But maybe I could be convinced. Maybe...

I've got to figure out a formula that makes some logical sense to get me past my sentimental hurdles.
MSA Sidekicks have been selling for US$450-$500. I wouldn't trade this for a sidekick no matter how much duress I was under...(Pro-instrument). So $500 is too low.
If you've been following my WTB "Want" ad - I'll trade it for a mint ADAAmpulator + you pay freight on both. These are worth about US$450-$500, but are hard to find. Freight on the two items would be about $100, I'm guessing. That values the transaction at $550-$600 plus the value of a finders fee on this hard to find amp simulator. Do you have any gearhead friends?
As you're thinking about this - I'll try to develop some [reverse]logic for a straight across cash dea.

I got an old wheeler 3 & 4 I think. Its kinda like a Maverick. Trade for about anything.
I bought it to get my daughter started but she has other interest. It has a case and all. |

RE: MSA Classic 3Px4K.
May be able to be convinced for $750 + shipping (guess shipping at $70). You could probably sell for $1,100 when its restored, so there's some nice upside for you. Besides, you would have an excellent sounding steel whether or not you went ahead with the restoration. It looks worse from the front than from the top. If fact, if you play it against a wall - the worst part of the lacquer issue isn't that noticeable.
I would provide a tattered old case for protection during shipping.
