There seems to be quiet a few 2488 users and as Joey suggested we could use this as a support group so I thought I would start one. I am certainly not an expert, but I have made a few recordings, so maybe we can help each other

The best resource I've found on the web is at
http://tascamforums.com/

It is not a Tascam sponsored group, just users.

If you'd like to ask questions / make comments here, that's fine.

It would be nice if they were all kept to this thread and it grew, similar to the the ZB User thread.

I'll go for that. The 2488 has so many options that I rarely use it. I keep a dictation machine handy so that when a new tune comes into my head I record it straight away before I forget.

A friend at church wanted a recording of themselves singing with an audio track. No problem, I thought, until I started to load the track. I cannot find a way to load a prerecorded soundtrack. I finally realized that the 2488 is not smart enough to tell the difference between a guitar and a plug from the computer so I plug a patch chord from the computer headphone jack into the 2488 guitar plugin and bingo it worked great. Has anyone found a better way? I would love to hear about it. Loading a track from a cd seems a no brainer, but they have found a way to make it hard.

Does anyone have a copy of the rhythm tracks which are supposed to come with the machine? I bought a refurbished machine and it doesn't have any of those in memory. I just need someone to download them onto a CD so that I can upload them.

Alan,

I would help you out but I bought the 2488MKII and I can't find any rhythm tracks. I think they did away with that on the MKII model.
