Have any of you folks seen the Deuce Spiggens/Hank Penny "Missouri" clip I have posted on YouTube (http://youtube.com/watch?v=bXLGqiPQEaI)? Anybody have any idea who's steelin' on that one? I'm stumped.
thanks,
Dave |

Hey Dave, are you listed as 'pappystuckey'?
If not, what's your handle? I'll subscribe.
If so, I've been subscribed to your vids (some of the best on youtube), but am having a hard time finding the 'Missouri' clip anywhere.
What's the exact title?
Thanx for the tip, hope to see it soon!
EDIT; saw it sooner than I expected, as I did see it when you put it up a while back.
Thanx Dave/PAPPY!, and to Mike for the ID of the steeler.
Where else can we see or hear Ralph do his thang?
Cool tone and solo.[This message was edited by Ron Whitfield on 29 October 2006 at 05:02 PM.] |

Aw thanks Mike -- that's good to know, as I don't think I've ever heard of him... is it pronounced "Meel" or "Mealy"?
How's the band?
Best,
Dave |

Ron -- I guess you did find it, right? It's "Deuce Spriggens - Missouri"
Glad you're enjoying the clips -- I'm having a blast putting them up!

Dave, I pronounce it Ralph M....I'm not sure how he pronounced it.
Anyway, he played on a few Hank Penny sessions, including Hank Penny Blows His Top. Also, he spent of time playing in groups with Carolina Cotton (the bassist on that clip and, incidently, Deuce Spriggens' wife) and Deuce Spriggens--in fact, they had a nightly gig at Western Palisades Ballroom, on Santa Monica Pier. That's about all I know |

Dave, I keep meaning to ask if you could put a certain, thumbs and, Curly clip on your videos.
These guys would dig it, its the only non pedal film of Chalker.
