Hi Walter.....again I'm not sure about who the singer is but I'm guessing that its Ralph Mooney on steel. John

Hi John,

No, it's not Ralph...The steeler is in the HOF and has been long associated with one of the great bands in country music history....

Best Regards, Walter

I was mistaken on the sound of that intro...I know I have heard that somewhere. That first bar of the steel intro sounds like Buddy Charleton.

The intro resembles 'Waltz Across Texas", so I think it is Buddy Charleton also......the singer, I can't get a handle on. Maybe one of the Texas Troubador albums.....how about Leon Rhodes?

Walter:

Thanks so much for the "Clip of the Week". It is so much fun trying to figure out the steeler and the singer. No matter if I figure/guess right or not, it is lots of fun and I always learn something.

Best regards,

Ben

I agree with ya Ben on this being a lot of fun. I to have learned a lot from trying to figure out who the steeler is. When I heard the intro to the song ....I new I had heard it before and sure enough it was the same sound on the intro to Waltz Across Texas which I have on the ET Album but for so many years I didn't know which Buddy was on the Album because no credits are listed. I think that some of the songs has Buddy Charleton and some have Buddy Emmons.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the kind words! It is intended to be fun, not a competition (still no prices to win!). I freely admit that I also would have problems guessing the artist or the steel player on some of these clips. However, there is so much good music out there that either not too many of us have heard before or that we have already forgotten about, so watch out for more music to come!

Kind Regards, Walter
