Where do you get one of those "nut raisers"

for playing lap on regular guitar

ie, temporary, not taking the existing nut out

If you need one at short notice, or if you just want to experiment, you can use a sawed off threaded bolt or a threaded lamp sleeve. The threads will hold the strings in place. It once worked for me.
