(C7+9 is the 'boo wah pedal' chord -- P8 on most C6 setups)

HOLD IT
Bill Doggett

Count 1-2-3-4-1 (3 quarter note pickups)

C7+9 F9 C7+9 /
F9 / C7+9 (C7+9 A7+9)
D7+9 C#7+9 C7+9 /

Greg's tab is an excellent representation of how it's usually played on C6

If you can find it, Jeff Newman's LP "Music To Get C6th By" has the tab for "Hold It" as well as the steel recorded in one channel & the rest of the band in the other channel.

Jim Loessberg's Cd called Sawed Off Shotgun has Hold It and alot more great tunes on it,he has the cd tabbed out along with rythm tracks also, and his playing is some of the best I've ever heard....and if anyone gets the chance to buy his Jazz series you won't regret it,I have several and work them all the time. Very Happy

I completely second that statement! I have the "Sawed Off ..." material as well as some stuff from his Jazz series and it's just great. Jim's playing and instruction material has opened up a whole new world for me in terms of playing jazz, on the steel guitar as well as in a general sense.
