I know this is last minute, but after flying with my steel this past weekend, I decided tot try to borrow/lease/rent a S10 or D10 for this coming Saturday.
We are playing at the festival in Craponne France..Here:
http://perso.orange.fr/country.rendez-vous.festival/

If someone is on the same bill, or is planning to attend, I will pay a fair rental fee to play our 90 minute set Saturday. I may be able to make arrangements for you to get backstage, but I'm not 100% sure yet, but I will try.
Please don't respond if you can't make it happen for sure. I need a firm commitment on use of the instrument.
PM or email me with inquiries. Thank you

Just as a follow up, I got great response to solve my problem. Crowbear quickly put the word out on the Steel Forum France (which I was surprised they had one, but that's awsome) and I got an offer from Patrick Laffrat to drive out and bring his steel.
Yesterday, I got a call from Ray Austin from Ft Worth. He is playing the next night at the same festival with Tommy Alverson, and he offered to let me play his steel. I took him up on the offer since that's the easiest, but I want to let everyone know about the kind response I got from the guys in France.
Thanks Crowbear and Patrick.

I have to say this has to be one for the books.

Who in the world would have ever thought that the person to come to your aid, in another country no less, would have been a guy who lives maybe 25 miles from you in your own hometown 4000 something miles away.

CrowBear to the rescue again. This Forum is great for something like this to happen. Back years ago without this fast communications, it never would have been possible. I don't miss the good old days too much, well maybe a little....al.SmileSmile

Those are great pictures. Notice I'm playing an MCI. That belongs to the great Ray Austin who was kind enough to let me play his. I might add, his knee lever setup is unlike any I've encountered and it was a challenge at first, but I got the hang of it. It's a great playing and sounding guitar.
Thanks again Ray!
