Some good friends of mine are going to be in the Austin Texas area from July 18 through the 27th. One of them is an extremely talented guitar player/singer that I play in a C&W band with. We play only classic C&W. He is vacationing with his wife and another couple and all of them love real classic honky tonk Country and Western music. Please post any bands/venues that you would recomend them seeing. Also, any restaurant suggestions that you believe they should hit. Thanks in advance.

On Thursday night go see the Cornell Hurd Band at a mexican Restraunt called Jovitas located at:

1619 South First Street
Austin, TX 78704
512-447-7825

Scott Walls is on steel. The whole band is great, fun to watch, and great to dance to. I think theres 12 or 13 people in the band.

Also if you go to see Herb Steiner with Gary P. Nunn at the Broken Spoke, try their Chicken Fried Steak! mm mm good. Also look through their "tourist trap" room...lots of old artifacts from Texas Country Music.

Enjoy Austin! Smile

Brandon

Yummy! Thanks mucho for thinking of me. But I think Mike Hardwick nabbed it last night. You know he's not one to pass up a bargain like that.

Bob
Tell your friends I'd also like to make a plug, as Brandon mentioned, for the Cornell Hurd Band. They are entertaining to the max... music, comedy, the whole nine yards. I spent 6 years with Cornell, who's still among my dearest friends, and the band is great. And Scott Walls will flat burn you out the door! Monster player.
