Hi John,

No, it is not Jimmy Day. The combination is really unique, that's why I posted this track. It was recorded 1960 in Dallas and is one of the very early regular Willie recordings...

Kind Regards, Walter

Well...I know one unique thing about Willie Nelson....both he and Buddy Emmons worked for the Ray Price band but I'm not sure of the year. Buddy Emmons would be my other guess but of course he is not doing the melody the way he did on the Ray Price version. Probably because of the guitar he is using....he played a bigsby I'm guessing for a while before he began using a Sho-Bud.

The steeler is Western Swing legend Herb Remington! Willie and Herby, that's really a unique combination. Smile

Herby, it is,,,,and Walter, yes sir, that is the very original cut done here in Houston. I think it was at ACA studios,,,,not positive of that though.

Instead of ACA, I'm pretty sure it was Gold Star/Sugar Hill Studio. They are the same studio, just different names in different time periods.

Walter, do you remember Herb playing Night Life at the old bomb shelter stage called Jazz Land? His approach was this style and so smooth. Best regards, Bob
