We went to Chastain Park in Atlanta last night for the Vince Gill/Amy Grant "Family and Friends" tour. When we got to our seats, I could see a beautiful sunburst steel guitar on stage. I couldn't tell what make it was, so I went down close and discovered that it was a ShowPro. And as the musicians came out, I saw Russ Pahl take a seat behind it! I would like to have heard him featured more, but when he was, he was up in the mix and sounded awesome. Mr. Marrs has certainly captured classic steel guitar tone, and Russ definately knew how to get it out. Great show if it comes to your area. |

Russ is a great player and one of my first influences when I started on the pedal steel. All of us who know him are very proud of his accomplishments down there in Gnashville. _________________ Joe Savage

What Joe said. I remember Mr. Nibs on Monday nights with the Sky Blue Water Boys. Checking out the band, hanging with Russ or Dan Lund on breaks and watching Monday Night Football back when it was cool. Oh, them's was the days..... _________________ Mullen RP D10, Peavey NV112, Hilton volume. Hound Dog reso. Piles of other stuff. |

I'd like to see the the most local stop on that tour- checked it out - Wente Vineyards in Livermore (still about 100 miles from me), in the East Bay Area, outdoor concert in Sept.
Yikes! Tickets start at $99 a head!
Guess I'll pass... _________________ Mark |

Yes! I agree! Russ and Mike Cass. The two of them would alternate giving lessons at the PSGEmporium. In between their lessons I'd hang out with them, one at a time. They both shared a few licks. I'd try to show them one I had found and almost every time they'd say, "Try it like this..." and show me the same lick only in a way that it was a LOT EASIER to play, (and most times more accurate, too...) Good times, for sure!
