I have had the great priviledge of getting to know and hear Dwayne Marrs recently. He is a great player, builder and just the nicest guy to boot. He also builds great guitars. Hats of to Dwayne.

Yes Duane is the nicest person you would ever want to meet. He's a great friend, and very knowledgable about the SHO-BUD's. I've known him since he was at Sho-Bud down on Broad with Shot.  |

I must chime in on the praises of Duane and Jeff. I have the beautiful natural pro II with the restoration mechanics on their website and it plays and sounds
great. |

| I remember well the old Sho-Bud days. What a great time in history that was, although we did't know it at the time. Duane was such a big part of all of that. There is not a part of a steel guitar that he is not an expert on. He knows what it's all about. What great guitars he builds and he can also play the fire out of one himself. Add all this up and put in the mix that he is a true gentlemen and all around nice guy,and you got Duane. I haven't seen Duane in a while. Wish he would come to St. Louis. Bobby |

I bought my first steel from Duane, when Sho-Bud had their shop on Broadway in Nashville. 1972, if my memory serves me correctly. The first floor was a music store with steels, 6-strings and amps, the second floor was offices and the third floor was pure magic. That's where they built and serviced steels. Heard some great pickers up there, trying out the latest in pedal innovation. Duane sold me an Emmons P/P student model, ugliest baby-puke green you ever saw. Wish I had it now.
Duane plays every Sunday at Nashville Cowboy Church in the Earnest Tubb Theatre. Go. You'll hear some great music and it's good for your soul. I'll never forget hearing Duane do a duet with Joanne Cash Yates (that's Cash as in Johnny's sister) on "Life's Railway to Heaven". Just Joanne singing and Duane on steel. One of life's unforgettable moments.
