Just wanted to let everyone know that our dear friend, and great drummer, Paul Polish will be joining us as staff drummer this year at the International Steel Guitar Convention, in St. Louis. Paul ,along with the talented Jimmy Queen, will be sharing the drum duties. Paul is no stranger to steel guitar shows and has many friends in our business. Stop by and say a big welcome to Paul at the show. Don't forget the "Hall of Fame" show thursday night with Jimmy Queen. Jimmy so talented and you just never know what will happen. The one thing you can be sure of is he and his lovely wife Starla and their show will really entertain you. Don't miss that one. I just wanted to welcome Paul to the St. Louis show. Please don't miss a minute of it. Love to all, Bobby

By any chance, is this the same Paul Polish that worked with The Dean Miller Show in the early 70's?

Paul, you are one of my favorite drummers and I am anxious about getting to work with you again. You have pulled me through many shows in the past. I know this past March at the Dallas show when you worked with myself and Curtis Potter, the feel and grove was perfect and right in the pocket. Scotty and Bobby couldn't have made a better choice.

Embarassed Embarassed Thank You, all of you, for all of the kind words.
As I have said in the past, it is a pleasure and priviledge for me to be a small part of the Steel Guitar world. I love working all of shows that I work, and I love all of players that I have the pleasure of working with.
As a youngster, I NEVER would have guessed I would have the opportunity to work with all of the GREAT NAMES in the music business that the Steel Guitar World has allowed me to work with. Not only the Steel Players,BUT,the members of the backup bands around the country [what talents they all are, wow]I love them all. And of course, all of the great singing talent that shows up at the Steel Shows. I admit that I am a HUGE Curtis Potter fan, Have been for years. Never thought I'd be working with him on shows. Ya just never know...
And as for Laney!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Yeah, me to darlin'...hehe!!

I'll stop rambling by thanking Jr. Knight and Charlie Norris for originally getting me involved in the Steel guitar world.
Jr. for taking me to my first Steel Show in Hot Springs where I first met Herby Wallace, and he asked me to work his set with him. Well, let me tell you folks, I WAS HOOKED on Steel Shows after that. HA!
And Charlie for hiring me to work the Dallas show about 15 years ago or so.Been there ever since.

OK, I'm really done now.. Love all of you. See you in St Louis. Stop by and say 'HI'

I want to thank Bobby Caldwell for this post. Bobby, I know that you just wanted to let all your friends and fans know that Paul would be the drummer at St. Louis.

But you did more than that.

Paul and I played together in a band in the mid 70's, but lost touch with each other after he moved to TX. Now, after 30 years, Paul and I talked on the phone on Tuesday. 20 minutes of phone conversation didn't come close to getting us caught up on what's happened over the years, but it's a start. Don't know when I'll get to see the rascal in person, as I don't think I can make SL this year. Maybe Dallas next year. But, Lord willing, it's gonna happen. Paul and I had some really good times (and some we won't discuss!), and I've thought about him a lot over the years. It's great to be reconnected with him.

Thanks Bobby.
