I know him, haven't seen him in ages, though. He was singing gospel music and preaching; not sure if that's still the case.
One of the best Ronnie stories was after he left the Hinsons and started playing for T.G. Shepperd. One night, when T.G. went on, there was no steel in front of Ronnie, he was just playing his acoustic. T.G. went over between lyrics and asked him where the steel was. Ronnie just hollered back at him, "SOLD IT!" _________________ Mikey D... H.S.P.

Thanks Mike....I still have one of his homemade instructional tapes he made when he lived in Nashville. You can hear a baby crying in the background. The Hinsons really turned him loose and he did soom really far out stuff on their live albums. _________________ Sho-Bud D-10 Professional, Nashville 112, Goodrich H-10, Boss DD-3, Steelers Choice Seat |

Reggie Duncam would be the one to ask on this one. Ronnie Moore was discussed on the Christian forum a while back but I just do not remember where he is today or what he is doing. I too have the live Hinson album with Ronnie on steel. The Hinsons picked good musicians and their bands were pretty hot. |

Last account, I believe he is in Georgia involved in full time ministry. I was trying to track him down to find the Red Sho-Bud LDG he played to see if he would sell. That was a couple of years ago.
Ends up he said the Hinsons owned it and when I contacted Larry Hinson, he said Ronnie owned it. So the elusive red 'Bud is somewhere in oblivion.
I would say Ronnie's steel licks made the Hinson live albums what they were, outstanding!

Ronnie was a great player and a nice guy. In 78 or 79 I was fortunate to sit and swap licks with Ronnie at Jerry Newberrys I was 16 or 17 then ,but I still use some of those " Hinson" chops today It was a pleasure meeting Ronnie. |

Hi Vic, and everyone else. I am Jerry Newberry's daughter. It's funny that this post has come up on here, because I was just asking my mom about Ronnie the other day (she didn't know where he was, as they have not seen him in years). I was going through some old pictures and found some of Ronnie at the house and he was getting a homemade perm. That brought back many memories of hearing Dad learning to play steel by listening to one of Ronnie's tapes and of course, personal sit ins with Ronnie. I grew up in awe of all the Hinsons and went to every concert they ever gave in our area down in AR. All my cassette tapes have long been worn out, but I think Dad may still have some of those original albums the Hinsons put out, and in good shape. Not that he or I either one would know how to post any sound on the forum. I am going to search the web and see if I can find anything from the old Hinson days out there, because I think Austin would have a blast learnging all those licks from Ronnie. If I find anything, I will let you all know here.

Yes, If anyone finds out how and where he is I sure would like to know. We had a lot of good times with Ronnie and the Hinsons years ago. The last time we saw him was a LONG time ago in Ft. Smith, Ar. He and Keith came & did a concert at one of the church's and he called us and we went to hear them. Hope someone can find him.
