Folks, have you ever just been sitting around and someone who has been an inspiration to you just pop in your mind? I seem to have this problem with Billy Carr. Billy doesnt really know me from Noah, but he seems to trip my "trust" meter every time I come into contact with him. If you have any doubts about doing business with him, forget them. I think he would go to the far reaches to satisfy you. Billy is a guy I met at the Gulfport, Ms. show last year and right away I felt relaxed around him and especially his wife, who is from an area close to my original hometown of Moselle, Ms. I am not a player, but Billy has extended friendship (even at his expense) without the first thought about profiting from it. He has been so nice to my young Grandson, who has wanted to go to every show with me, mostly because of Billy. I am a very hard sell on people, but Billy deserves respect for his outgoing personality and true devotion to making people happy. |

Thank you for the kind words, RC. Music brings people together and I use the steel guitar as my vehicle to entertain folks and make new friends, as in you and your grandson. I remember when I was 14 years old, a young steel player spent about 5 minutes with me one night after a Conway Twitty concert and here 36 years later, I still remember that night and the impression he left on a young kid who had only lost his father a year earlier. That gentleman inspired me so much until I decided I wanted to play steel guitar like him. It was a young John Hughey! So we never know who we're going to inspire or touch through music. Thanks again, RC! |

R.C. I want to join you in saying that I met BILLY a few years back, but for only a few minutes don't think he knew who I was but he listened to what I told him about his guitar that day and he was very strait with me and I with him then we never talked again and that was several years back then we renewed our friendship a few weeks ago thru another friend of both of ours and we have been talking ever since he is honest and sincere with what he says and tells it just like he sees it and that I do like, honesty and truth is something I do and I have found him to be that same way and that is really hard to find in today's society someone that tells the truth and a man of his word..... BILLY does for sure I'm glad to call him my friend also TOMMY YOUNG |

Thanks Tommy. Kinda like the ole saying, "Laying all the cards on the table". What you see is what you get. For all you pickers out there, what you hear with one of the guitars Tommy has modded is exactly what he says they are. Improved tone/sound. With Wallace Truetones added to Tommy's mod, the sound on the guitars I've played and listened to are crystal clear. I've never seen anything like it. It's the real deal! I'm proud to call Tommy my friend and we welcome him the MSP(Ms. Steel Players) Club along with several other steel pickers and musician's. Thanks again Mr. T! |

I've had the privelege of knowing Billy for some years now, and a more genuine friend I could never find. He's as trustworth a man as I've ever met. What Billy Carr tells you is the absolute, honest truth. He's right up front with you business and otherwise. While we're at it, he can forever more play the steel guitar, I'd put him right up there with all the "big-boys"! ! ! ! Billy.....I say that because it's true....you never have to take a back-seat to anyone who sits behind a steel. I'm so glad that I can call Billy Carr a real true friend and a man of integrity. Billy and I have not met in person, but we've spoken on the phone, and done business, and I also believe he is an honest and honorable man. He definitely treated me right.
I hope we meet face to face some day at a steel guitar event. The next one I will be attending is the January show in Mesa AZ. Billy, if you attend that one I'll buy you dinner. _________________ Please visit my web site and Soundcloud page and listen to the music posted there.

Thanks Hal for the kind words. I don't know about playing with the big boys but it's fun trying. You sounded great at the 6-30 Ocean Springs show on the chestnut burl Rains. Thanks to you, Mike also. I imagine we'll meet at one of the shows in the very near future. I'm planning on traveling and playing shows around the country in the very near future. Thanks again guys! |

Me and Billy are good friends. We have known each other for a long time. I have loaned him my gear, and he has offered me his gear many times. "Anything that I've got is yours. If you need it, come get it." is what he tells me. And he means it. A time or two, I have filled in for him at some of his gigs.I would always tell the one who called me "Yea, I can come, but now listen...I can't play like Billy can!" Billy is a top-shelf steel player! Character? He's a good, honest man! A man you can trust!

I have to agree about Billy Carr. I traded guitars with him some time back. He was super helpful and went out of his way insure that all was what I expected. I would loan him a steel (Rains of his choice), amp, and anything else he needed and not lose sleep over it.

All I can say is how lucky some of you are to have met Billy in person. I have not but I have done buisness with Billy and he always treats me above and beyond fair. Thanks Billy for all your help!
