CORRECTION: CG-530
A friend recently acquired one of these dbl. 8s and I'm searching for info on the years of manufacture and maybe someone will know more of this particular guitar's history as it does have a noted provenance having belonged to at least one of Hawaii's great steelers, Barney Isaacs.
Brad has a pic on his 'Page of Steel' that is close (probably earlier version) but with a few differences, such as type of PUs/covers, Vol/Tone knob style/placement, and finish/body construction.
Plus the case is much different, but both are pink plush lined.
Per Brad's pic, the body looks to be solid wood, as opposed to a rather junkish wood looking venneer to make up a body that is otherwise fairly hollow.
The PUs are much larger than shown in the pic and have black plastic covers with 4/8/4 pole pieces.
The 2 knobs are on each side of the red/blue push buttons (which do what?) and are black w/chrome cap inserts.
This kind of steel can be seen with Arthur Kaua of the Hilo Hawaiians on at least a couple of their LP covers, and may actually be the same one.
Whoever played it greatly favored the inside neck as it's well worn, the outer is quite clean.
I doubt Barney played this guitar much, but someone did.
