We are hearing and seeing lots on the news about the flooding in Texas these past few days, are any of our forum members in Texas in the midst of this mess?

Right in the middle of it, but lucky enough to be on high ground.

It didn't rain all day today, we were kinda surprised.

Les,

I'm in San Antonio and we've had some rain but nothing like 90 miles north of us. Our band is playing at an outdoor venue tonight in Bandera, Texas @ The 11th St bar. It's beautiful right now and it should be neat under the big bright Texas stars. We have some rain in the area but we are keeping our fingers crossed. It's really been nice, its keep the temp in the high 70's. It's usually about 100's.

Hey guys - we've had rain almost constantly for a month. Real bad floods in the UK. We had the driest April since records began and now it looks like the wettest June. Who said global warming doesn't exist?

I played outside last night without a single drop of rain but it is thundering again right now. I can't believe how fast the grass is growing.

Man... guys, I'm sorry... when I first saw the title, I thought it was gonna be a humor type thread... ya know, "Whadda ya call 100 steels in Old Hickory Lake? A good start!" kinda thing... (I know, it's supposed to be banjos...) Embarassed

I live in Marble Falls Tx, we had about 20" of rain in 8 hrs. Lots of flooding in town and in the out lying areas. Five miles away in Horseshoe Bay it rained only 6". My home was safe from the waters, but alot of homes and businesses had damage. The rivers are still running full. No loss of life that I am aware of.

Les I'm about 12 miles from the Brazos River and from where there is some of the major flooding. They are having a heck of time down there. They evacuated all the folks down by the river, then let them back in then re-evacuated again, and they are calling for more rain through Wednesday. Possom Kingdom Lake is approximately 45 miles away and they are opening and closing flood gates which of course is playing havoc on the Brazos River. I am praying for those folks down in the flooded areas all over Texas. Our family has been blessed that we live on higher ground.

Mosquito's, I thought they where mockingbirds pecking on me Joe.

It's 4:15 a.m. here and it is raining as I type this.
Has rained every day for 2 weeks now around my place.

Not enough to flood but just enough to keep it so nasty you can't do anything outside in the yard.

We're out west of Austin and we've had a worse-than-usual infestation of fleas this year. The near-constant rain hasn't slowed them down, and as has been stated, the mosquitoes are terrible, so we have double trouble, bug-wise.

"Off" repellent works about as good as anything we've found so far.

Rain every day for the last 30 plus days. Cool though and my a/c bill is a lot lower.

If you remember the commercial during one of the Super Bowl games a number of years ago for Tabasco Pepper Sauce -- that is how I keep the bug situation under control. The bugs blow up - messy, but it works. Very Happy

We're high and "dry" here, but this rain does not soak in - runs off and flows South to low areas and floods them.

My steel pickin friend Gene Smith in Point Texas said he had never seen this much rain at one time in Texas. He said he went out side and got so wet he passed out and they had to pour a bucket of sand on him to revive him.

Very Happy Here at the Dallas,Ft Worth airport an airline worker put over 200 gallons of jet fuel in a mosquito before he realized it wasn't an airplane.
