Hi Dale
I think the number of the tubeworks pre-amp is the RT 922. It was made by B.K.Butler. He also was, I think, the main designer of the Marshall valve pre-amp, the 9001, which was made only between '89 and '92. It uses 3 valves as opposed to 2 valves in the 922. I use one in my rack for steel. I couldn't afford a revelation and bought the Tubeworks and the Marshall. The Marshall has a 5 band eq as opposed to the 3 band on the 922 , Both have a great sound, but I must say I prefer the marshall for its EQ.
Either way they are both superb units.
