Now I've done it. I had to get under my Emmons to tighten a bell crank and now my lowers get in the way of my raises on both e's.
Do I have to start by tuning the changer or can I move something to allow the raises to still be raised when I engage the lowers.
I looked around but didnt find a topic for this.
Thanks to all of you. _________________ '10 Williams 700 Series SD10 4+5/ '71 Emmons S-10 3+4/ '73 Emmons D-10 8+4/ GK MB 200/ Custom Tommy Huff Cabinets/ Webb 614-E/ Steelseat.com Pak-a-seat/ Magnatone and Fender lap steels/ Cobra Coil bars & Strings/ pod 2.0/ Peterson Tuners/Goodrich V.P./ Boss RV5/Teles and Martins

Ok, since last post I now have my raises raising to f, and my 4th string e lower goes all the way down to eb but the 8th string e wont go down to eb and it is not hitting the screw on the end plate either. I would give it more travel but I am afraid that I would be back to the problem of the lower getting in the way of the raises.
What am I missing?
Help!

Kirk, if everything is working except the 8th string lower, turn the guitar over and use your finger or a tool and push the lowering finger against the tuning screw, using this method tune the screw so you have an intune Eb when you manually push the finger against the tuning screw (allen bolt in endplate). When this is in tune you should loosen the set collar on the 8th string RAISE rod and while holding the lowering finger against the tuning screw and pulling the raise pull rod slightly taunt, move the set collar on the raise rod up against the bellcrank swivel and tighten. Now adjust the set collar on the lowering push rod so it will push the finger against the tuning screw just when the cross rod hits the stop. If there is a compression spring on ONE of the 4th or 8th string lowering rods you want to time it so the one with the spring finishes slightly ahead of the one that does not. (Very Slightly), if they both have compression spring try to time them where they bottom out at the same time.
