Possibly Sol's first recording session, this track is an instrumental called "My Best Girl" (Sunset 1054A) from March 1925. Lani McIntire on guitar, Glenwood Leslie on ukulele.

Another home run from Mike's Juke-- back in the day (2004) when I started listening to Hawaiian steel guitar, Sol was the first player to really knock my socks off, and the main reason is right in that tune. He may have been playing an acoustic steel, but the man's music is electric.

I haven't been able to listen to the last three or four of these. When I click on the player it says "Page not found". Anybody know why?

Gary, I think you have to sign up for My space and become a member? I can't get on either unless I sign in?

**Tried to download but it said the page can't be found? I noted it said 0 downloads today, must be having a problem with the downloads.

You don't need to sign up or be a member.

The music player is Flash-based. Maybe this is a problem for your set-up, or maybe you don't have Flash enabled on your computer.

I couldn't "download" this one or the last Joaquin one ..

I get the player and can listen to it "live" .. but the "Download" function sends me to this page ...
http://mp3download.myspace.com/music.ashx?bandid

=65037766&songid=26725784&name=65037766_29519e9b

(I cut the url ... so it wouldn't stretch this page)

The page appears ... but never resolves ...

Like a perpetual V7 chord ... ha, ha

I tried downloading one of my own ... off my page ... and had the same thing happen.

Must be a Myspace mp3 download issue ...

Where's "Tom" when you need him ... hee, hee

I listened to and downloaded the first few posts and have a number of programs to play music. If you can tell me which one I should have, I can check to see if I have it.

For some reason, the download function is not working. I'm not sure why. Can you listen on the page?

I can hear it just fine through your page, but I can't download from your specific page (although I can from other Myspace pages).

I can neither hear any of your clips or download them. I tried Rick Aiello's My Space and found the same problem. I tried a few others and some I could hear and download thru the Windows player and others were the same as yours.

I believe you need to have Flash installed on your computer.

Yeah, I have Flash installed. On one machine I'm using the version 8 plugin (8.0r27) and on another the latest (9.0r20). I have the same problem with both machines, and specifically with your page. I don't have this problem with other pages on the Myspace site.

Just set you computer to "what you hear" and record the tune in real time with any recording software. Then save it as an MP3.

Hey Nic du Toit,

Sounds good, but if you could be a little more specific on where to find "what you hear" on my computer it would be appreciated! It doesn't seem to appear when I access the standards!
