Hello to all. I have viewed the forum for awhile and gained from each visit and have just joined. I spend three days in Austin with Neil Flanz that was fantastic. Neil is an extremely patient and wonderful teacher. The fact that he takes on new students speaks volumes of his character and love of the instrument. I look forward to working with Neil in the future as I also look forward to getting to know many of you.

Mark

Dave,

I was not there but had taked to Neil on the phone on his birthday and he told me he was playing at the Spoke and some friends were coming. Wish I had been there. While I was in Austin we had the chance to go out with Neil some, even got home about 3AM one night. Was a great time with a great man. I can't say enough about what it is like to be with Neil. He is a great teacher. Anyone who has the chance to take some lesssons with Neil sure ought to take it. He is just great. I really look forward to driving to Austin again to spend more time with him.

Thanks for the replay

Mark

Welcome to another fo'bro from Buddy Hollywood--the Hub City, The Giant Side of Texas, where the wind don't blow, it sucks. Wink

Wally Moyers is another distinguished player here, famous for his video instructional series.

Charlie,

Good to hear from you. My wife and I just moved back from Austin (after a ten year stay) to Lubbock this past summer. We lived in Idalou for six years prior to moving to Austin. It is good to know there are some steelers here. Do you or Wally play with anyone? Would love to hear you. We have yet to discover the live music scene here in Lubock. Can you give us any hints.

Mark
