I have not owned any of the Boss delay pedals but what is the difference between the two of them the RV5 and the RV3. Jim

The RV3 has reverb plus a delay. RV5 only has reverb. I use the RV5 and like it very much. Mike

Jim,

Well, hopefully I can add something to what my friend Mike said, ( because I asked the same question on the forum a while back, in fact Mike is aware of it and gave me his feedback).

I ended up getting the RV-3. I don't know if you are aware of any of the background on the BOSS pedals, but they do not make the RV-3 anymore. They replaced it with the RV-5. Like Mike said, the RV-3 had both delay and reverb. Some say the RV-5 has richer and fuller reverb than what the 3 has. Again, personal choice.

So now in order to get reverb and delay from BOSS, you have to buy an RV-5 for the reverb and a DD-3 or DD-6(Digital Delay).

I had a DD-3 and did not really like it. But I really like the RV-3. To me it is a well rounded stomp box.

Everyone has their preferences.

Hope this is helpful.

Mike, we still have to get together one day and do some jamming, buddy!!
