Craig Schmidt; Heard him "filling in" with Justin Trevino in Austin 6/7. The band was bass, drums and steel. Fine playing in a daunting situation.

i've done that gig and it is quite a handful for a steel player. you kick off and turn around every song and play all the fills so you're playing constantly. there isn't time to adjust your tone or even think about the song or key or anything. Justin plows through a zillion tunes without missing a beat whether you know 'em or not. if your picks fall off you keep playing with bare fingers! there's always a bunch of steel players in the crowd too in case you aren't sweating enough! it is a whole lot of fun and challenging, though and Craig did a super job.
