I'm looking for a chord chart of this song if anyone can help me. I'd like to know how to play it on an acoustic guitar. Thanks!

oh yeah, George Strait, on his most recent cd.....

Steve,

this is really in E, but I think it would be much easier to do in D with a capo on the second fret, if only for the subtle shifts in the verses.

("D6" here is just D with your pinky on the third string, fourth fret.)

Tab:

D                      D6              Dmaj7
I felt the rush of the Rio Grande into Yellowstone

          D6             D      D6    Dmaj7                   D
And I've seen first-hand Niagra Falls       and the lights of Vegas

I've criss-crossed down to Key Biscayane and Chi-town via Bangor, Maine
Think I've seen it all and all I can say is.

Chorus:
               D  A/C# bass
How 'bout them cowgirls

B min.          D/A bass
Boys ain't they somthin'

               G    D/F# bass
Sure are some proud girls

        E min.          A
And you can't tell them nothin'

                     D   A/C#bass
And I tell you right now girls

    Bmin           A              G    D/F# bass  E min.         A
May just be seven wonders of this big, old        round   world

                   D
But how 'bout them cowgirls.

She's a ridin' colts in Steamboat Springs
Bailing hay outside Abilene
She's trying hard
To fit in some city
But her home is 'neath that big, blue sky
And the Northern Plains and those other wide open spaces.
And now'days there aren't as many

Chorus:

         Em
Boy, she don't need you and she don't need me

        D/F# bass
She can do just fine on her own two feet

        G                                  D
But she wants a man who wants her to be herself

            Em
And she'll never change, don't know how to hide

    D/F# bass
Her stubborn will or her fightin' side

        G                                        A
But you treat her right and she'll love you like no one else.

[Chorus]

My pleasure Steve.

I'm a little unsure about that B minor in the chorus: could be G/B bass, but I can;t quite tell through the one-inch speaker in my laptop.
