Did any one ever try putting two Artisan 6 stringers together ( buy one with legs and one without ) with metal or wood braces to make an inexpensive D-6 console with legs good enough to do old Hawaiian with C-6th and A-6th tunings ?? I thought it might be a cheap solution to the lack of available D-6 hi-dollar consoles ?? I'm thinking about trying to work out something. Would cost maybe $160.00 for everything.?? I can't lift and carry my T-8 any more !!( sciatic nerve flare up !! ) Any one have any ideas ??? Eddie "C" ( the cheep old geezer )

You might be able to bolt a couple of Artisans together, but you would probably have to move the center leg brace to the back neck for good balance.

I'm disappointed the Musicians Friend quit selling the Artisan, I intended to grab a few while they were so cheap, and do some experimenting with them. I know you can still get them on EBay, but not as cheap. Has anyone noticed that I'm a cheapskate?

Howard have you checked musican,s friend lately? I noticed on June 13 they had artisans listed for 79.00. I have one with legs to practice on and it is not too bad for such a cheap instrument. Jack

Thanks Jack I'll check, maybe they started carrying them again but it's only been a few days since I looked.

Today I saw that blue Artisans laps are in stock in limited quanities at Musicians Friend.
Or is it limited qualities?

I had two artisans and prefer the SX lap. The SX is a a better deal for $20 more .
