Anyone know who plays Dobro on this Album? (Not in any notes on the Net.)

Buddy Emmons is listed, and I can hear him on steel on four numbers. Does he play dobro???

Nice album...Benny Martin...awesome fiddle...really interesting dobro.

Well, gosh, I was hoping someone had the album, and could read me the notes!

Emmons is awesome (as usual) on this primarily bluegrass album. Plays a wonderful Travis Style chorus on "That's a good enough reason" and some great fill.
(I'll talk some more about fill somewhere else.)

I have the Rhapsody Music Service (12.95 a month) and I picked it up there. Will probably buy the album this week. Give a listen if you have Rhapsody or something like it.

I'm not sure what album you're talking about, Rick. Is it this one by Benny Martin with John Hartford and Lester Flatt? If it is, I've never heard the recording, so I can't help you. If it isn't, let us know which one you're talking about.

Yes, Brad, that's it. Looks like it slipped thru the tracks. Benny was THE fiddler for Bill Monroe and then Flatt and Scruggs and his fiddle should be the template for what every good bluegrass player aspires to.

And, the other players are just great. Several vocals by Lester Flatt before he died. Really good dobro fill on everything that doesnt have PSG.

i have this CD. Buddy Emmons is credited with dobro and steel guitar and no other credits for either so I think it's Buddy on the dobro. Unsurprisingly, he plays it pretty dang well!

Thanks!! Yes he plays classic fill...something every dobro player should do. And there's very little on the instructional DVD's I have. (Rob Ickes talks a little about it way down at the end of the second disk.)

CD is really fun to play along with.
