I decided on the new podxt with the small footboard, it fits nicely between my pedals. I already use a podxt live for my guitar rig and it works nice. I love the editing through a laptop, and all settings can be backed up. Any input on adding one of those matchbox, or hilton sustainers?
Thanks for all your input guys.
If I spend another grand I think I will play better! Just joking. _________________ My Setup:

Since I'm back to using (2)-Amps again, I'm kinda searching for a similar sound that Jay Dee Manes had on most of his Hwy-101 recordings. I'm using (2) Nashville 112's and at the present time I'm trying to make do with the effects-units that I currently own! I'm running a chord from my volume-pedal to my Ibanez AD–9 Analog-Delay. Then from that Mix-Output I run a cord to the Input of my BOSS CH–1 Super Stereo~Chorus. Then I run (1)-Output to Amp. #1 and the other Output to Amp. #2. This gives me Reverb & Delay in both Amps plus Stereo~Chorus. The sound is becoming quite acceptable and with a little more tweaking, I think I'll be all set to knock myself out, if no one else! The Peavey Standard Amp.-stands are quite an asset for better distributin of sound also! _________________ <marquee> Go~Daddy~Go, (No), Go, It's your Break Time</marquee> L8R, jb

Because effects are so interactive and every chained one adds noise and "transistorizes" the sound a bit more no matter what they claim about "true" bypass, buffered MOSFETs and all, I've finally gone over whole hog to PODs or Digitech modelers. Sometimes I like just a touch of reverb, sometimes I like to use a small amount of compression to control the slope of picking sensitivity on a distortion model, there are a ton of variables that I can experiment with on a modeler without crawling around plugging and unplugging stuff and wondering where that funny humming noise is coming from.
For example, with a modeler you can use just a tiny bit of chorus to "stereoize" your sound and substantially tighten up the lower mids, like 15-20 on a scale of 0-99. It's an idea that wouldn't even occur to you if it wasn't sitting right there at your fingertips, and there's a world of that type of interactions. You have 50 or 60 user presets so you can A/B every change instead of twisting knobs back and forth saying, "wait, no, that one was better...." OF COURSE I've heard people make some hideous noises with effects modelers - name the piece of equipment for which that isn't true.... |

I still like the sounds of my 112's with my Profex II. Even with one of the 112's, I like the reverb and delay of the Profex over the reverb in the 112's. _________________ Mullen (Black) Pre G-2 9x7, B.L. 705 PUP's, Evans SE 200 Telonics NEO 15-4, BJS Bar, Peterson Strobo Flip, Steelers Choice Seat, Folgers Coffee and Hilton Pedals.
