I was home sick from work today. About 9:30 AM I started to get really bored so I recorded this tune.

It's a bit different from my normal material. It uses what we here in the Midwest call "The Monkey Beat". Another prime example of the Monkey Beat would be the song "Wooly Bully" by Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs.

You count the Monkey Beat as follows...
Boom cha cha, Boom cha, Boom cha cha, Boom cha (repeat) Accent is on the 'Boom'. Give it a try, it's fun!. Smile

I'm using my Eckhaus Tululele Tenor Uke and my 1947 Rickenbacker Bakelite as the leads, both plugged directly into the computer. No microphones. Accompaniment by Band In A Box.

Sorry for hogging the bandwidth as of late, but things are coming out fast in my studio.

This tune was a big hit for the Clovers in 1952. It was also one of the tunes that helped put Atlantic Records on the map.

The Clovers

One Mint Julep

Don't be sorry Gerald - that's great stuff!
Hog all the dang bandwidth you like . .

But, how can you play that good when you're sick?

Remember when you were a kid and you stayed home sick from school. Your miraculous recovery at 3 PM?
