Hi,
I'm a new member of the forum, and I havent't got any steel yet. I'm into that Fender tone, so I'm looking for a Fender Artist 10 with 3 pedals and 4 knees. I believe these are the ones made by Sho Bud? I'm planning on setting this steel up as single neck C6.
Your also very welcome to send me a mail/post here if you have anything else for sale that should interest me.

Thanks!

/Holger

A lot of people here might disagree with me, but you might consider getting an old Fender 400 for C6. I learned C6 on one with 6 pedals and was able to use most of the standard changes (pedals 4-8 and 3rd string C to B on rightmost pedal).

You'd be missing the two lowest strings, but you wouldn't need those too much with most groups unless the bass player is very understanding.

There might still be some available here: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum9/HTML/000214.html

Thanks a lot for your help, Basil and John.
John, I've considered going 8 strings instead of 10 (or 12...). But the lower two strings are important to me, they are actually a big part of my decision to try out C6. I will perform solo with the steel at times (I hope), and then I will need those low notes. But your input is greatly appreciated!

Basil,

Thanks a lot for your help. I talked to Carl about the guitar, and he said that you are probable more familiar with it than he is. Do you think you could tell me a little about it if you know anything? Things like condition, if it stays in tune etc.

I think it's impossible for me to get a hold of you magazine here in Sweden, otherwise I would be more than happy to buy it.

Thanks!
