This is the best tab collection I have seen, only one thing missing, Doug you should do sound tracks, I would pay $25.00 for the tracks or.
He has the music on 1 line and the tab just below, so no brainer as to how long to hold the notes. I scan the song and print on Photo paper and lay the song out on a wide music stand no turning pages and much brighter copy.
Doug this is a work of art and you are congradulated for your fine work.
Guys this is only $1.00.00 per song, it don't get no better than that, and the song colection is very good pop, county, church songs , sesonal, patriotic. A wide choice, and very well written. In case you wonder I have never met Doug and have no dog in his hunt, just impressed with his work.
(where is my spell checker?)

Doug how about some sound tracks.

Thanks Ernest, I'm glad that you like the book. I considered audio CDs when I put the book together, but 60 tracks... I am such a perfectionist it would take me a year to record 60 songs. Wink Maybe I can set aside some time for that project in the near future. Thanks again.

The songs are very familiar, and the arrangements are so clear, no audio is really necessary. That was my goal. All melody, no additional fills, just 3 pedals, 3 knee levers (E9 tuning).

If you have BIAB and you get Jim Baron's 5000 song disc, all but 2 or 3 of the 60 song's in Doug's tab book are on it. I have been working my way through the book and the song files to edit the BIAB files to match the arrangements exactly.

I agree with everything that has been said about Doug's book. I just did over the rainbow last night and it may be one of my favorits. I, also, want to know how to get the Jim Barons sound track off 5000 songs.

I will do BIAB tracks for all 60 songs in the book. The tracks will include the melodies exactly as played in the book. I'll do this in my "spare time", so it may take a while... stay tuned Wink

thank you Doug, you're the best.
These are the easiest tabs I have seen, I can now sit down and almost sight read these they are so plain.
Those of you using these, scan them into paper port and print them on Photo paper, you can spread them out and see all pages with out turning, Most are 2 or 3 pages long.

Keep in mind... these will be Band-in-a-Box tracks.
To play the tracks you need to have the Band-in-a-Box program installed in your computer.

Thanks David and others who purchased my song book.

When I finish the BIAB files I will email them to anyone who wants them... no charge. The 60 BIAB tracks will have the exact melodies that the pedal steel guitar is playing in my song book. Today I started entering the melodies into BIAB and I already have a few tunes completed.

As far as recording all 60 songs on pedal steel, that will be a future project, but for now you'll have to settle for a cheesy BIAB piano playing the steel parts. I'm not geared up to record 60 songs at this time. Wink

Sample: Below is the BIAB file for Are You Lonesome Tonight?. If you have the BIAB program on your computer, download this file, and you will be able to slow the track down, speed it up, turn off the melody, hear just the track, set it to play several times through, etc. I'm using BIAB version 11. I think the current version is 13, but this file will play on any version, I believe.

BIAB FILE click---> Are You Lonesome Tonight?

Below are two MIDI files that should play on most computers. I can provide MIDI files for all 60 of the songs... in the near future. The files below play the song one time through. When I do the final versions I will have each song play several times through. I also burned WAV files of these tracks, which sound better, but they are Huge files. I started to upload a WAV to my server, and it went s-l-o-w as a turtle, and I have cable internet.
Let me know if this is something that you can use, and if it is helpful. Thanx.

Well got my copy of Dougs book today and I think everyone should have this book. MHO. Doug got the book out real quick and it is one of the best that I have gotten bar none. What a great guy to deal with as well. I would be interest in the BIAB tracks as well when they are ready.
