I have a jones to own a G&L ASAT. I like the price of the Tribute line, but would condider full-fledged ASAT G&L if the tone or playability benefit was significant. Informed opinions, please!

I have two G&L ASAT's, one is an ASAT III that is more like a hardtail Strat than a Tele and I just picked up an ASAT Classic with the wider #3 neck, both rosewood. I can't comment on the Tributes, I've never played one, but you can get such good deals on the regular models, I can't see why you would opt for the Tribute, the price differential can't be that much. I got the Classic at a guitar show in Philly for $650 in as-new condition with the better case. I think it is a 2002 model. For whatever reason, G&L's don't seem to command high resale prices. They are sleepers in my book, they are as good as any Fender ever made, and I have a terrific '53 Tele. Keep an eye on ebay, I've seen really nice ones go for not a lot of dough. Once you get one, you'll get another.
